Text messages and conversations can be valuable; because of that, sometimes you’ll want to save a text message in case it gets erased from your phone.

Perhaps your friend told you a funny story, or maybe your colleague sent you some important information.

Whatever it is, if you want to save Facebook messages, you can do a few different things.

Today we will show you some of the different methods available that allow you to export, save, and print Facebook messages, so let’s jump right in.

Method #1 – The Best Way to Export, Save, and Print Facebook Messages for iPhone

The first method which we’re going to be showing you is the best method available. You can export Facebook messages using this method, save them, and print them afterward.

For this method, you will be required to use dr.fone – iOS Data Backup & Restore, so make sure you have downloaded and installed this program onto your computer before following the steps below.

Get dr.fone – Backup&Restore (iOS)

#1 – Once you have the program downloaded and installed, connect your iPhone to the computer and launch Dr.Fone Toolkit for iOS.

#3 – On the following display, you will be prompted to select any of the data types you want to have exported. Since we want to export Facebook messages, check the “Messenger & Attachments” option. Click on “Backup” to continue.

#4 – Dr.Fone will now begin scanning your iPhone for all the messenger data on your iPhone. Once the scan is complete, go through all of the messages which have been detected and select the ones which you’d like to export and print.

#5 – After selecting the ones you want to export, click on “Export to PC” and select a file location to save them.

#6 – Now, if you want to print Facebook messages too, simply check the messages you want printing off and click on the small printer icon at the top-right of the program.

Once you’ve gone through this method a few times, you will realize that it is the easiest method we will show you, and it gets the job done quickly.

Method #2 – Export, Save, and Print Facebook Message for Android

The next method we’ll show you is slightly more complex than the last one, although it is effective and will get the job done just as well.

This method is split into two parts.

Part #1 – How to Export Facebook Messages

In this first part of the method, we are going to show you how you can export your Facebook messages on an Android device.

#1 – First off, launch the Google Play Store application and download the application, which is called “Message Backup for Facebook.”

#2 – When the app is finished installing onto your device, launch it. You will now be able to view all of the conversations currently stored on your Android device from Facebook.

#3 – On the app’s main display, tap on a conversation you want to export. You will be taken to a menu that allows you to select a certain time-scale of messages. If you want to export all of the messages from that conversation, leave the menu as it is and click “Next” to continue.

#4 – Next, you will be asked to name the file which is being exported. The exported file will be stored somewhere on your device (the app will show you where), and if the conversation contains more than 5,000 messages, then multiple files will be saved.

Now that we’ve shown you how to export Facebook messages, it’s time to take a look at how you can print them off if you want to.

Part #2 – How to Print Facebook Messages

In this second part, we will show you how to print Facebook messages on your Android device.

#1 – Just as you did before, launch the Google Play Store application and download the “Google Sheets” application. You will also need to download another application called “Google Cloud Print,” so go ahead and install it now.

#2 – Launch the “Google Sheets” app and upload the Facebook messages file you exported using the method in part 1.

#3 – Next, once you’ve uploaded the file you want to have printed, open it up using the application.

#4 – Using the Google Sheets menu, tap on the “Print” option.

Note: if you haven’t already set up Google Cloud Print, you will be required to go ahead and do so before you can print your Facebook messages file.

#5 – You will now be prompted to select the correct printer settings as well as the file printing settings before lastly tapping on the print icon to print Facebook messages.

While this method includes two different sections and is slightly inconvenient, it gets the job done, and if you’re on an Android device, it is one of the few options you have.

Method #3 – Using Facebook to Export, Save & Print Facebook Messages

Using the next method we’ll show you, you can print your messages directly from the Facebook website.

#1 – First, head to Facebook.com and log in using your email account and password.

#2 – Now that you’re signed in, click on the small blue arrow at the top-right of your screen, and click on the “Settings” option from the drop-down menu.

#3 – From this page, you can manage the back-end of your account completely. For this method, click on the “General” option on the left menu.

#4 – At the bottom of the options that appear, click on the “Download a copy” button.

#5 – A new window will open up, and you will be prompted to click on “Start My Archive,” so go ahead and do so now.

#6 – You will then be asked to enter your Facebook password and once you’ve done that, click on “Submit.”

#7 – Another popup window will appear. Click on “Start My Archive,” and lastly, click on the “Okay” button.

Note: after this step, you may have to wait a while before Facebook emails you and notify you that your download request has been accepted.

#8 – Once you’ve received a link from Facebook, click on the provided link.

#9 – You will be taken to a page. Simply click the “Download Archive” button, and a download will begin, containing all of the requested Facebook data.

#10 – After downloading the file, you will be able to see all of your messages. Take a few minutes and extract any of those you want to print.

#11 – Once you’ve extracted any of the Facebook messages you want to print, right-click on the extracted file and click “Print.”

#12 – Follow the instructions shown, and you will have successfully printed off your Facebook messages in a few short minutes.

Given that you can do this straight from the Facebook website, this may be more convenient for some people. However, this can be time-consuming and may take some time to get done.
